Procedures for Test #1 ---------------------- Date: Tuesday, October 1 Place: The exam will be held in HCB 215 (i.e., NOT the regular classroom) Time: 6:30pm to 8:00pm *** Seats are randomly assigned. There will be some confusion with the seating, etc. So arrive at least five minutes early please. The exam is closed book and closed notes. NO books or notes are allowed. You will be supplied with scratch paper, and a copy of the Table of Common Distributions from the back of our textbook. During the exam, you may use ONLY what you need to write with (pens, pencils, erasers, etc) and (if you wish) an ordinary scientific calculator (TI-86 or below is fine; but NOT a computer or any device with internet capability; your calculator should NOT be able to do algebra or calculus, and should have only limited memory). Usually there are few calculations, and arithmetic does not have to be done completely. All other items (INCLUDING CELL PHONES) must be left at the front of the classroom during the exam. This includes backpacks, purses, books, notes, etc. You may keep small items (keys, coins, wallets, etc., but NOT CELL PHONEs) so long as they remain in your pockets at all times. If you need to use the restroom during the exam, see me first. Only one person may leave at a time. *** Anyone found in violation of any of the rules stated above will receive a zero on the exam.
