Managing your Stat account
Well, first you should go to this link. You may get a warning
about a self-signed security certificate. This is to be expected, and
proceed. Login with your current user id and password.
Changing your password
Now, on the left hand side, click on the Login button, then "Change
Password". Input your current password, and then your new one two times. Click change now, and you should be good to go.
Forwarding your email
Under Mail, select "Mail Forwarding and Replies" (and NOT the other
forward). You have choices:
- Deliver locally? which means "continue to deliver to stat, and
send a copy elsewhere". This is a binary choice: yes or no.
- Forward to other address?. Again, a yes or no, and with a form
to input the address to that you want your mail forwarded.
- Automatic reply this is good if you're going to be out of
the office and want people to be aware of that fact. You should set a
minium time between replies, as spamming via a robotic reply is often
frowned upon. Typical time between should be on the order of 10080
minutes (1 week).
There are other options available in the Usermin manager package. I
advise caution with some of those options. There is a "Read Email"
application, but I do not and can not recommend you use that as it
really does a number on your inbox and makes it not appear to be a
valid mailbox for any other mail reading application.
